Whimsy Wednesday - Children at the Museum

My nephew and I decided to visit the Columbus Metropolitan Museum in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend.  A lego exhibit was in and he loves legos.  He especially likes when artists build huge things out of them.

I think the bicycle was his favorite!

We also were on the hunt for a white mouse.  We almost thought we were not going to find him, but with a little help from a museum worker we were able to scope him out.  Our hint was to look up!

Here are a few other photographs of the lego exhibit!

I love the museum as well, so I am really happy there was something that motivated my nephew in going.  I haven't been in many years. The painting below is my favorite in all of the museum.  It is titled, "Shoko with Red Hat".

William and I had a wonderful adventure in the big city.  We viewed so many beautiful pieces of artwork on our trip.

Whimsy Wednesday - Mason Miles Emotional Adventure

What is it about children that make us so cheerful and lighthearted at times?  Is it that it takes us back to the moments when we ourselves as adults had less worries?   Nostalgia for what was, and can never be again, for us elders.

For this "little monster" has no bills, traffic, judgements, broken relationships, or unfulfilled promises.  He is pure emotion and probably doesn't even understand it.  Mason Miles as we call him is just over 1 year young in this world!   What a magical and wondrous time!

In the few hours I was blessed with him and his mothers visit I saw many expressions that covered the profusion of feelings and expressions we as humans share.  Do you know as humans we have 7 basic emotions?  Here they are expressed through Mason's visit.

Wonder/Surprise

Joy/Happiness

I think Whimsy lies within the first two emotions, what do you think?

Fear

Contempt

Anger

I really didn't have any angry pictures of Mason, but I think his "little monster" hat looks a bit angry to me.  Ornery as well, but angry too.
We didn't have any SAD pictures either, or Disgust.  I will have to be better with capturing his moments next time, even the bad ones.

Erin & Mason
